Design for Additive Manufacturing - Report of Survey with Designers

A comprehensive report from a survey of 110 designers of their experience, knowledge and information requirements regarding designing components for series production using additive manufacturing. Designers are aware of the potential of AM, but few have experience beyond prototyping. Information on designing components to be made using AM processes is mainly generated from experience. Perceived cost and component performance (material properties) remain barriers to adopting these processes more widely for series production.
